Day Excursion to Pompeii

Join us on an all day excursion to Pompeii, where you will explore the mysteries of this ancient city. Despite wars waged on its soils, despite assaults by earthquakes and a volcano nineteen centuries ago, Pompeii is still vibrant and accessible. Wander from mosaic to monument, temple to theatre, envision life in this legendary city.

• Welcome Reception  - 1900 – 2200

Monday, October 2

• Explore the Pantheon and have cappuccino in the square

• Walk to San Luigi dei Francesi – Cerasi Chapel to see three memorable Caravaggio paintings.
• Lunch in the Piazza Navona

• Visit Trevi Fountain and stop for Gelato at ‘Il Gelato di San Crispino’
• Shop / Explore around the Trevi Fountain

Tuesday, October 3

• Tour of Vatican – enter the Vatican Museum on Viale Vaticano. Visit the Vatican museum; Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Piazza di San Pietro – Bernini’s spectacular columns
• Lunch at Ristorante Marcello
• Walk to the Spanish Steps.  Hike to the top of the steps for a beautiful view, Visit Via Gregoriana, Relax and enjoy cappuccino at Antico Café Greco – Rome’s oldest coffee house.
• Explore the streets around the Spanish Steps.  Shop!

• Tour of the Coliseum, Forum, Palantine Hill, and Catacombs
