Stone Mountain

As you leave the Harvey Hotel, we will travel to Georgia's internationally known Stone Mountain Park, [Stone Mountain] home of the world's largest sculpture carved on the face of the world's largest granite monolith. Over a half-century in the making and an enduring tribe to a part of American history, the Memorial Carving depicts Confederate President Jefferson Davis, Generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. Measuring 90 feet by 190 feet, it is the largest bas relief sculpture in the world.

Sky-Lift

On a Skylift ride to the top of the mountain, the carving's immensity is magnified. At the top, a spectacular view of the park and the surrounding countryside is yours to savor.

Antebellum Plantation

This is a genuine reproduction of a pre-Civil War Georgia plantation. It was created to give an idea of what plantation life was life in antebellum Georgia. The buildings were brought here from various points throughout Georgia.

Lunch will be at the Mountain View Restaurant, located in the Stone Mountain Park Inn. Enjoy a real authentic southern buffet complete with fried chicken and catfish!

Afternoon

World of Coke

[World of Coke] Next, it's on to the World of Coke. Learn the history of the world's famous soft drink as you tour the World of Coca-Cola Pavilion. See the replica of an early soda fountain and then enjoy your own glass of coke at the Soda Fountain of the Future. Shop in the Coca-Cola Gift Shop.

Underground Atlanta

[Underground Atlanta] Walk over to Underground, Atlanta's most unique shopping experience. Enjoy the artisans and merchants which are aplenty!

Drive by the Olympic Stadium, home to The 1996 Olympic Games, and the Georgia State Capital Building with its golf leaf dome.

Cyclorama

Next, you will head to Grant Park, home of Cyclorama. This is a three-dimensional diorama depicting the Battle of Atlanta. This is the world's largest panoramic painting complete with music and narration that will take you vividly back in time.

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park

[Kennesaw Battlefield]Don't miss this opportunity for Civil War Buffs! Before the Battle of Atlanta, Union and Confederate forces clashed on June 27, 1864, at Kennesaw Mountain. Located 20 miles north of downtown Atlanta, you won't want miss this. Fortifications run for miles through the woods, and monuments mark the battle's historic moments. Hiking trails are numerous so wear your walking shoes.
