AGIFORS SSP 2012 has been scheduled for 3rd-4th May 2012 in vibrant city of Barcelona (Spain). This year's conference is being held in a recently opened award-winning Porta Fira hotel located within a short metro or taxi ride from the city centre. Preceding the main event, on May 2nd we will offer a SSP OR 101 workshop for those who are interested in an introduction to operations research models used in airline planning and scheduling.

Overview

Major topics to be discussed and reviewed relate to demand forecasting, fleet and network planning, alliances and codeshare, long term maintenance planning, fleet assignment and aircraft routing, schedule robustness, governmental rules and regulations, environmental issues, and many others. Come and share with us your ideas, thoughts, current trends, business practices, philosophies, and latest technological advances on any of the above topics. To get a better feeling of what to expect please take a look at the last year’s agenda. Also, AGIFORS RM study group will hold its sessions in parallel to our meeitng. We will organize a joined social program with multiple options for interaction, networking and enjoying hospitality of this wonderful region. We look forward to seeing you in May in Barcelona!

·         As a par t of the technical program we will have a panel of industry experts discussing the state of decision support systems used in airline’s planning and scheduling processes.

·         We have significant interest in the SSP OR 101 workshop, so we confirm that we will offer it on May 2nd.

·         As a part of our social program we will offer a visit to BCN airport (control room, airside and landside).

·         Our social outing will take place on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea at the Xup-xup restaurant (http://xupxuprestaurant.com/).

·         We had to release the block of rooms at the hotel, but rooms might still be available at the conference rate, so if you have not booked them yet please do.

·         If you need an invitation letter for visa application please let me know.
