AGIFORS Scheduling & Strategic Planning Conference. This year’s meeting, hosted by All Nippon
Airways (ANA), will be held at the ANA
Hotel Tokyo . Shuichi Fujimura,

Airways will be giving the keynote address.
The conference welcomes all qualified
papers on scheduling and strategic planning concepts and methodology. Topics include, but are not limited to:

Robust scheduling

Integration of schedule planning with crew
scheduling, revenue management, maintenance, operations

Schedule generation and analysis
·
Fleet planning and fleet assignment modeling
·
Alliance
and code share analysis
·
Customer modeling and demand forecasting
There will be an award for best presentation/paper. The author will be invited to the annual
AGIFORS symposium (Fall 2007); the symposium fee will be waived.

The cost of the conference is $450 (USD). This includes all conference materials,
refreshments and lunch on May 17 and 18 and the conference dinner on May 17.
Prior to the conference, there
will be an optional half-day seminar: Application of Discrete Choice Models for
Itinerary Share Prediction, led by Laurie Garrow
on May 16. This four-hour tutorial
will provide participants with an introduction to the estimation and
application of discrete choice models.
The course begins with a brief description of fundamental concepts of
multinomial logit (MNL) and nested logit (NL) models.
This is followed by a hands-on lab based on “real world” airline
itinerary choice data in which participants learn how to estimate models and interpret
model coefficients. Registration is
limited to the first 15 participants.

software for MNL and NL models is provided as part of the registration

General Information
Note that the
AGIFORS Revenue Management Study Group will be held May 13 – 16 at Jeju Island
South Korea. It is possible to attend both the RM and
SSP. There are evening flights from GMP
to HND and from ICN to NRT. HND is
closer to the hotel so this may be the better routing.
