City
FactsAs you fly into
Auckland, New Zealand's gateway city -- and its largest -- you might
wonder just where the city is. First-time visitors and natives alike
are impressed by the seascape and green forest that dominate the
view on the approach to the airport. Much of Auckland's charm
lies in the fact that you can enjoy a cappuccino in a downtown café
watching the city bustle pass you by -- knowing that within 30
minutes' driving time you could be cruising the spectacular harbor,
playing a round at a public golf course, or even walking in
subtropical forest while listening to the song of a tui (too-ee),
one of the native birds.
