In the united Europe of the near future, Berlin will be situated at the center rather than on the outskirts. Berlin has at its disposal experiences both from the West as well as from the East. Berlin is becoming the juncture between East and West, the starting and ending point of both sides - it is becoming the East-West Metropolis.

Berlin is the center of political decision making and news in Germany. Politics and diplomacy have lent the city a new internationality. German and international organizations concentrate on economics and society while being located at Germany's seat of government and parliament. TV, radio, and newspaper teams are being moving into the capital.

Berlin's structural changes, modernization, and construction achievements live on the creativity and innovation of science and research. Future technologies along with information and communication technologies, medical technology, biotechnology, and transportation technology all profit from this creativity and innovation.
Today Berlin attracts performance oriented people who are looking for changes and for things still to be done. Berlin is a city of young people, its future is with the business entrepreneurs of the 21st century.

Berlin's traditional strengths have been culture, education, and the sciences. It is a place of intellectual energy and debate. Berlin's cultural know-how has been a constant part of its development. The cultural dynamic and breadth of the city is based on the richly varied mixture of large cultural institutions with long traditions along with diverse free scenes.

Germany's largest city is open and cosmopolitan, allowing for every kind of life style.
The unexhaustible urban diversity of Berlin makes for a quality of life that is particularly appealing. Berlin is rich in signs of its history and its present, in inner city landscapes and urban closeness, in big city life, and in peaceful places.
