OR Managers' Study Group 1997 Meeting These meetings have provided OR Managers working in the airline industry with a valuable forum for exchanging ideas and discussing issues at more strategic level than other AGIFORS study groups which specialize in application specific areas. The meetings are managed on a non-profit, break-even basis – delegates settle their own hotel bill. OR analysts are used to working on well-bounded problems - e.g., developing mathematical models to support a particular decision making task in a particular application area - but they are also increasingly being called upon to work on "corporate" cross-functional task-forces to help solve problems which cross organizational boundaries.
