City Facts

As you fly into Auckland, New Zealand's gateway city -- and its largest -- you might wonder just where the city is. First-time visitors and natives alike are impressed by the seascape and green forest that dominate the view on the approach to the airport.  Much of Auckland's charm lies in the fact that you can enjoy a cappuccino in a downtown café watching the city bustle pass you by -- knowing that within 30 minutes' driving time you could be cruising the spectacular harbor, playing a round at a public golf course, or even walking in subtropical forest while listening to the song of a tui (too-ee), one of the native birds.

Airports

AKL - Auckland International Airport

Ground Transportation

From the Airport:

Auckland airport is 21km south-west of the city centre. A free shuttle service operates between the international and domestic terminals. The Airbus Shuttle runs a scheduled service every 20 minutes between the airport and Downtown Auckland and calls at most major hotels. The approximate cost is NZ$13 per person. Door-to-door shuttles also operate to and from the airport for approximately NZ$20 for one person and NZ$25 for two. A taxi to/from the airport will cost around NZ$50.

About the town:

Transport around the heart of Auckland is as easy as jumping on the Link Bus. Circulating both clockwise and anticlockwise around the inner city area, the Link Bus service can take you from the city to Parnell, Newmarket, Grafton, Karangahape Road, Ponsonby and back. Hop on the Explorer Bus for sightseeing and to see the big 14 attractions in Auckland city.

Conference Hotel

The Heritage Auckland is perfectly positioned overlooking sparkling Waitemata Harbour and the excitement of the Americas's Cup Village. Situated in the heart of Auckland's business district, the hotel is within walking distance of the city's many attractions, including the Sky Tower, Casino, and the shops of Queen Street.
