AGIFORS Crew Management Study Group 2003
Conference

Join us this spring in New
York City!
AGIFORS will hold its annual
Crew Management Study Group Conference May 27 – 30, 2003, hosted by Jet Blue Airways in New York City.
Conference Overview
The Crew Management Study
Group provides a forum in which operations researchers; IT and
flight operations personnel along with their peers from around the world
gather to discuss mutual interests and problems. Although the emphasis is
on operations research, many of the airline delegates come to the meetings
looking for solutions to specific problems, and pure operations research
solutions are relatively rare.
As the industry
continues to automate and computer technology proliferates, no carrier can
afford to develop all its systems internally. The vendors who attend
represent a source of packaged solutions to common business problems. The
meeting serves to bring together the vendors who serve our niche (crew
management) of the industry and the airline users and developers who work
in the crew management area. Topics
to be discussed and reviewed relate to planning and management of flight
deck and cabin crew, including crew pairings/rotations or trip construction
and the assignment or rostering of the trips to crewmembers.

Sponsorship
Opportunities
The Airline Group of the
International Federation of Operations Research Societies (AGIFORS) is a society with the avowed
purpose of forwarding the practice of Operational Research in airlines. The
membership consists of Operational Research workers who are also employed
by recognized civil airlines. There are, in addition, correspondents who
are people keenly interested in the application of Operational Research to
aviation problems.
